Looking for something to do in Boston the last half of this summer? Come check out Open Newbury!
There are only three times this whole year when you can stroll down Boston’s famed Newbury Street in historic Back Bay without stressing about traversing the traffic and the possibility of getting ran over, and that’s during this spectacular street event. Newbury street is closing down for pedestrians only to shop around and taste the delicious cuisines only found here.
What: Open Newbury
Where: Newbury Street – Between Arlington St to Massachussetts Ave
When: August 13th, September 10th
How: Thank you Boston!
The first Open Newbury just went off spectacularly this last Sunday. It was an absolutely beautiful day! We were out there to greet our visitors and offer up samples of our zesty delights at our table right there on the street. From savory baguette bites to sweet cranberry pecan bread to refreshing evian, our guests were able to sample what Roost Bistro and sister restaurant, the Patisserie on Newbury, has to offer. We also gave out coupons to our Roost Bistro reopening, happening this August 15th, for complimentary appetizers upon dining with us and checking out our revitalized menus.
The next Open Newbury, on August 13th, our team along with our family from Patisserie on Newbury will be out in full force with delicious sweet and savory samples of our new dishes along with refreshing lemonade for a $1. Think you might need a recharge while taking in all the sights and sounds of Open Newbury? We’ve got you covered – $1 cups of our famed iced coffee. And if you come early enough, you might be able to get a spot to play a game of cornhole!
So come out to Open Newbury to sneak-a-peek at what’s to come from our revitalized menu and taste the deliciousness that is surely to keep you coming back the rest of the season. We are also giving out coupons again for complimentary appetizers during the reopening of the Roost Bistro. We’d like to sincerely thank our fans for their patience while we get our light renovation and revamped menus ready for an even greater dining experience! .

Locally sourced – internationally inspired
What is zesty, fresh, local and farm-to-table? Our new menu offerings! This summer we decided to open the season up with a new and improved healthier menu that appealed to Bostonians and visitors alike. We’re focusing on creating internationally inspired dishes that are sourced with local sun-ripened fruits and vegetables. Our hand-picked meats are grown organically with no hormones or steroids to provide our guests with only the purest and healthiest of zesty taste. These new fresh and savory entrees make for the perfect palate-pleaser!
Never before have we rolled out such distinct and unique dishes as we are this season, and we couldn’t be more excited. You can look forward to seeing dinner menu items such as Swordfish with fresh diced tomatoes, artichoke, capers and toasted pine-nuts in lemon butter wine sauce; and Season Grilled Mediterranean Shrimp with barley, farro, broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes and fresh spinach. Our lighter lunch fare comes in enticing savory dishes such as delicious Flatbread Pizzas, fresh Eggplant Caprese Sandwich with crispy sweet potato fries and our ever-famous Roost Burger, with custom grass-fed beef blend served on a buttery brioche bun.
Not to be left out, our new brunch menu does not disappoint. We decided to kick it up a notch – we now offer our famous brunch seven days a week, 10:30a-5p! Now you can order Nutella Banana Pancakes or our famous “Stuffed French Toast of the Day” all day, any day. And let’s not even talk about the Smoked Salmon Benedict, with delicious capers, red onion, hollandaise sauce served over an english muffin. Mmmmm
With delectable new menu dishes such as these, you can’t afford to miss out! Check out our weekly specials such as #WineDownWednesdays, where we offer up our superb wine list at half-price. Springtime in New England is like nature’s fresh warm reemergence. The ground is new and and all that nature has improved upon is apparent. Not unlike this spring’s arrival, Roost Bistro’s is also experiencing its own fresh reemergence. We are excited to announce that we have a new Executive Chef at the helm of our beloved bistro, with a new inspiring menu full of zesty farm-to-table dishes.
Jeff Feldman, our new Executive Chef, hails from Sharon, Massachusetts and now resides in Stoughton. After discovering a passion and talent for the culinary arts, Jeff went on to Providence, RI to attend Johnson and Wales University – one of the premier culinary and hospitality schools in the country. Go Wildcats! Realizing Boston was transforming into a foodie’s heaven, Jeff smartly situated himself in the thriving Beantown and got to work. He worked for restaurant brands such as Newbridge on the Charles, East Bay Grill and Franklin Country Club – building up his culinary prowess. Jeff even cut his teeth on his very own restaurant for three years – The Crosswalk Cafe. After deciding he wanted a spot on the famed Newbury Street – Boston’s fine-dining corridor, Jeff joined Roost Bistro as our new Executive Chef. And he’s been “cooking” ever since!
So, with this new spring comes a new chef, and with that new chef comes a new and improved menu. Understanding what truly motivates Boston area foodies, Jeff has expertly fused fresh organic meats with zesty sun-ripened fruits and vegetables into our menu. Luckily for us, Jeff only cooks with all natural non-gmo goods that are fresh and taste amazing to the pallet. Way to keep us healthy!
With all these fantastic changes at Roost Bistro, you’ll HAVE to come in for a visit and check it out for yourself. We’re excited about our new and improved menu, so excited, that if you mention you saw this in our blog, we’ll offer up a complimentary appetizer with your brunch or dinner! #winning
